Course Description
With the passing of Texas House Bill 1927 (effective date September 1, 2021) qualified individuals can carry a handgun either openly or concealed without obtaining a License To Carry (LTC) through the State. There is no training requirement, but individuals who violate any rules regarding carry or use of a firearm without lawful justification face serious legal consequences. While not mandatory, this class better prepares individuals to exercise their rights responsibly. There is no written or shooting test with this class. Taking the class does not create any record with the State and does not meet the LTC application requirements.
Students taking this Constitutional Carry class will be present with License to Carry students. Any differences in LTC carry vs. Constitutional carry will be clearly identified as they are presented. Most of the material applies to both groups.
Teaching methods adapted from decades of providing Law Enforcement and Citizen training has resulted in a highly interactive approach which better prepares students to apply the material more confidently during stressful situations.
